Practice Description - Shari began her private mediation practice in 2001, and has mediated over 1500 disputes since then. She combines substantive knowledge in a few practice areas with a practical approach to problem solving. Her practice is focused on assisting parties to resolve disputes in the areas of employment and labour law and personal injury / insurance-related disputes. She regularly mediates tort and accident benefits disputes, those involving long-term disability claims, wrongful dismissal disputes and grievances brought under collective agreements. She has also conducted workplace investigations and climate reviews.
Background - Shari has worked as a "neutral" since 1993. After a few years in private practice at a firm practising labour law, she was appointed to various statutory tribunals charged with deciding disputes in the areas of employment standards, occupational health & safety, pay equity and workers' compensation. She was later appointed as an Arbitrator at the Financial Services Commission, and served in that position for four years.

Shari has been in private practice with the Alternative Resolution Group since 2001, and has been managing partner for the last several years. The firm has been recognised as one of the "Top Ten Arbitration Chambers" in Canada by Canadian Lawyer magazine in 2015, 2017 and 2019. She has participated as a guest speaker at conferences sponsored by the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Toronto Medico - Legal Society, the Advocates Society, the Insurance, Employment and ADR sections of the OBA and the Canadian Defence Lawyers association.
