Practice Description - Natai Shelsen is a mediator and lawyer specializing in employment and human rights matters, commercial disputes and aboriginal law.
Background - Natai is a bilingual mediator and lawyer at Goldblatt Partners LLP. She holds a Qualified Mediator designation from the ADR Institute of Canada. She holds a Certificate in Mediating Disputes from Harvard Law’s Program on Negotiation and a Certificate in Transformative Mediation from the University of Waterloo. She has a joint LL.B/B.C.L. from McGill University’s Faculty of Law, as well as an Honours B.A. from the University of Waterloo, where she double-majored in Peace & Conflict Studies and Speech Communication. She is licensed to practice law in Ontario and Quebec.

Natai is a creative problem-solver who is tireless in her pursuit of a mutually-beneficial resolution. She couples an analytical legal mind with a practical approach to dispute resolution, helping parties achieve solutions that are designed to meet their underlying interests while recognizing personal and business realities. She has a unique ability to make parties feel comfortable and respected and to generate meaningful discussion in order to guide them towards enduring resolutions.

Natai uses a combination of caucuses and joint sessions, designing mediation processes that are tailored to the case at hand and the parties’ needs.

Natai serves on the Board of Directors for the ADR Institute of Ontario. She is a member of the Ontario Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association and the Association des juristes d’expression française de l’Ontario (AJEFO – the French-speaking lawyers’ association of Ontario).
Fees - Half-day (3 hrs): $1,500 (includes prep)
Full-day (6 hrs): $2,800 (includes prep)
Additional attendance charged at $325/hr.

During the COVID-19 pandemic some mediators may only be conducting mediations by video or telephone conference.

If you are seeking an “in person” mediation on a mediator's available date, you should discuss with that mediator whether s/he will conduct an “in person” mediation on that date.
