Practice Description - I am a lawyer, mediator and adjudicator specializing in employment, labour and human rights law
Background - I have over 15 years of experience in employment and labour law.

The majority of my career has been spent in private practice focused exclusively on labour, employment and human rights law. While in private practice, I frequently wrote and spoke on various topics related to my areas of practice, and I am the co-author of Practice and Procedure Before the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario. I also taught employment law at Conestoga College for several years.

In 2021, I was appointed to the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario in the position of Vice-Chair (part-time) where I adjudicate and mediate disputes.

I have an excellent command of the law, and a creative and pragmatic approach to problem solving. This approach helped my clients achieve positive resolutions to their workplace disputes and in my mediation practice, has assisted parties find a path to settlement.

My mediation practice is focused on all areas of employment and human rights law including wrongful/constructive dismissal, harassment, discrimination and reprisal, as well as all manner of workplace disputes including where the parties have an ongoing employment relationship. I also mediate grievances in unionized workplaces.

I am easy to work with, empathic and have a genuine interest in understanding people and their disputes from a legal, personal and emotional perspective.

I've had a front-row seat to the consequences of protracted litigation and because of that, I am a firm believer that settling lawsuits in the interests of all parties. It gives people their lives back and frees businesses up to focus on making money, not spending it.

As a mediator you can be confident that I will know your file inside and out, understand the legal issues involved, be able to communicate effectively with all parties and offer thoughtful and creative solutions to help you reach a resolution.
