Practice Description - My practice includes arbitration, mediation-arbitration and mediation in labour relations, employment, and various related disputes (e.g.: human rights disputes, group and individual disability claims, pensions issues and employment-related tort actions). I have also mediated tort, insurance, contract, commercial, and other civil actions. My mediations often are multiple party matters involving complex legal issues.
Background - I received my LL B from the University of Windsor in 1984 and was called to the Bar in 1986. From 1991-1999, I served as a Vice-Chair of the Ontario Labour Relations Board (OLRB). I have acted as a mediator, arbitrator, conciliator and facilitator. I teach mediation at the university-level in both Canada and the United States and am a co-author of "Canadian Construction Labour and Employment Law." I further specialize in the design and implementation of ongoing dispute resolution mechanisms for governments, agencies, corporations, and their bargaining agents. Presently I serve as a part-time Vice-Chair of the Grievance Settlement Board (GSB) and I am a past President of the labour Sub-Section of the Canadian Bar Association of Ontario (CBAO). Also, I am a member of the National Academy of Arbitrators (NAA).
