Practice Areas - Employment and Labour
Practice Description - I am a part-time mediator/arbitrator. My mediation practice is primarily centered around the resolution of wrongful dismissal lawsuits. I also frequently mediate disputes in labour relations, employment, and various related disputes such as human rights disputes, workers' compensation, group and individual disability claims and pension issues.
Background - I have been a full time Vice-Chair on the Ontario Labour Relations Board for more than 10 years. Immediately prior to joining the Board, I was a sole practioner mainly representing employees in wrongful dismissal claims. Before that I practiced at Baker and McKenzie as an employment and labour lawyer. I co-authored The Collective Agreement Handbook: A Guide for Employers and Employees. (with Stewart D. Saxe)1997 and Collective Agreement Handbook 2nd Edition: A Guide for Employer and Employees.(with Stewart D. Saxe)1999.
